Random updates...

Since when has love and being in a relationship been compared to an investment? Is it like investing in the stock market – where you expect a solid return on your investment? Do you set a stop loss and sell all your stocks and move out when the market is not conducive enough? Where has all the passion gone? Where was I when the world was changing so fast? Sigh Sigh! After all, modern times….

In another note, forgot to mention that it was my birthday 2 months back….I guess this explains the sudden post of a wish list… Well, what I did not mention there was that Gift, which was actually on the top of my wish list….a long, hand written letter, which I never got. Well, I got an emailed one from my sister, which was awesome and totally satisfying and brought tears to my ears…. Can’t thank you enough….

Oh my God!!! That phase has started….. Middle aged/ Aged men and women, meeting me for even professional purposes have started asking “John, are you married yet?”. I never got the hint, till one of them actually lost his sense of subtlety and blurted things out……Spare me, Lord!

Have you people noticed my e-pet? If you notice closely, when you bring your cursor near the panda, and make abrupt motions, the panda’s eyes follow you as if it is totally alive…..Also, there is an option called ‘More’ from where you can select a bamboo shoot and if you hold it on the Panda, she will grab it and eat it – all the while expressing her gratitude… Try it, it’s damn cool…

A good friend of mine and me go to a hookah bar- the rest-o-bars where you can smoke hookahs… There is smoke all around and it is almost difficult to see the person standing next to you. You know what the first question my friend asks me? He takes out his pack of cigarettes and asks me, “Dude, can you ask if smoking is allowed in here?” Wonder of wonders!!!!!

Random lyrics-

I would do anything for you
I would climb mountains
I would swim all the oceans blue
I would walk a thousand miles
Reveal my secrets
More than enough for me to share
I would put roses round our door
Sit in the garden
Growing potatoes by the score

Shake your hair girl with your ponytail
Takes me right back (when you were young)
Throw your precious gifts into the air
Watch them fall down (when you were young)
Lift up your feet and put them on the ground
You used to walk upon (when you were young)
Lift up your feet and put them on the ground
The hills were higher (when we were young)
Lift up your feet and put them on the ground
The trees were taller (when you were young)
Lift up your feet and put them on the ground
The grass was greener (when you were young)
Lift up your feet and put them on the ground
You used to walk upon (when you were young)

Introduction to a female friend’s husband

Me and female friend and her husband run into each other at a crossing

Female Friend – Hey, how are you? Have been thinking of introducing you to my husband for such a long time…. John, this is my husband… Husband, this is John Galt….

Husband – Hi

Me – Hi.

A long pause……..

Me – So, you are her husband…

Husband – Ya.. that’s what I thought…..

Another pause………, female friend starts fidgeting…

Husband – So, you are the guy she keeps talking about, all the time?

Me – [thinking, – “No, freaking idea, but why lose the opportunity?”] Ya, even I thought so

Husband – *thinking* - Did she date this guy? Bloody fucker, I get compared to him all the time…

Me - *thinking* - How did she end up with this dork? Are her parents blind? No doubt, I hate arranged marriage…

Female Friend – So, John – come, let’s go to some restaurant and chat over dinner…

Me *thinking* - Why bother?

Husband - *thinking* - Why bother?

Me – *saying* - Sure, I’ll be glad to, plus you people owe me a treat anyways…

Husband - *saying* - Great! And I know this brilliant rest-o-bar… we’ll have a superb time there….

We three go and sit. Dinner ordered. Meaningless conversation is on. Meanwhile, Female Friend gets call from some colleague and has to leave, but asks us to continue…

As soon as she leaves, Me and Husband order proper Hard Drinks….

4 drinks down…

Husband – You bloody keep away off my wife (hic) … I am sure you bother her all the time that she talks about you so much (hic).

Me – You, fucker (hic), hurt her in any way and I will shred you to pieces.

8 drinks down

Husband – Hey man (hic hic hic) Remember, I warned you sometime back about something, I don’t remember what I said, but am sorry if I hurt you… You are a (hic hic) greaaaat guy

Me – Ya dude (hic hic hic hic) Even I did not mean what I said, I am sure even you are doing a good job.

Both – She is a good girl, Nah, A Brilliant girl… This was such nice conversation, Let the two of us meet up more often…….

Spellings....

I don’t know, maybe because of this profession of mine, for some reason, I absolutely detest spelling mistakes. Typographical errors are still fine, I mean, every one makes some mistakes while typing at a 100-word-per-minute speed, which is what those sitting at the other side of the chat window expect from you. But, genuine spelling mistakes, yuck, are absolutely sacrilegious. If you make typographical errors, I can attribute that to your lack of accuracy at typing. If you make grammatical mistakes, then that can be explained by the fact that probably your thoughts get jumbled up while you type. But when you make genuine spelling mistakes and that too over a long stretch of conversation, it simply shows your lack of knowledge, awareness and enthusiasm.

Come on, with the programs like Microsoft Word and IESpell at your disposal, isn’t it absolutely impossible to make a spelling error these days, even if you had not been as finicky as me during your school days? (Once, I went up to the extent of reading up the Concise Oxford Dictionary to perfect my spelling skills, don’t call me nerdy, OK?). And, if you do not love fiddling on the computer, at least use the ever- reliable dictionary, which is even available online!! (God, where are the days when we friends had these little competitions about who can find out the meaning of a tough word from a paper dictionary- the actual bound ones with intoxicating aroma of an old book- in the shortest time and reveled in the joy when one won!) But for Christ’s Sake, please spare us from your atrocious spelling mistakes. Just a look at the mistakes, makes my blood boil. Even after all this technology and support, if you still continue making spelling mistakes, then please please go back to Class 5 and start afresh.

Forgive me, maybe I have some serious problem, or some kind of phobia against spelling mistakes (any idea what is the word for that? Someone said Orthographobia, but I don’t think it is right). But I hope, at least some of you can understand the cringing feeling every time I see a wrong spelling. I have lost count of the number of times I have missed my chances because of this J.

For example, there was this ‘hot’ girl and I met her, talked to her, she seemed quite interested in my demented sense of humour, yada, yada. Well, the conversation ended with she asking for my number and I was like – ‘Aha, There you go’ [:P]. Ok, now comes the tragic part. One hour later, I receive a message from her and I guess, you people probably have already guessed by now – the SMS was absolutely riddled with appalling spelling mistakes. Well, to be fair, I gave her a few chances hoping this was just SMS lingo and maybe she knew the right spelling and exchanged a few dozen messages. Nope, she never improved; in fact it was getting worse. Within a few hours, I was so flabbergasted, that I totally forgot, how sweet the girl looked, or how sensuous her smile was or that she seemed interested in me (which, is indeed a rare incident) – the only thing that I remembered of her was her horrendous knowledge of spelling. I must say, the same keeps happening to me w.r.t people, whom I meet over the net and once a bad impression is created w.r.t him/her because of the person’s mistakes in spelling, it rarely goes.

I am not saying I am perfect, actually I sometimes deliberately make spelling mistakes or pronounce a word differently to create a comic feeling or just to listen to admonishments from someone, but to make such mistakes unknowingly is actually uncool and a super turn off.

Well, that doesn’t stop me from being judgmental about others, isn’t it? J It is my judgement, my blog – so obviously I can judge whoever I want :P. (Don’t know why, but kind of reminds me of a scene from JTYJN where a sister on asking his brother whether she can sit on the couch beside him got this kick ass reply, “Your house, Your bums, Who am I to give you permission!”)

Random Lyrics

Goodbye Michelle my little one
You gave me love and helped me find the sun
And every time that I was down
You would always come around
And get my feet back on the ground

Goodbye Michelle it's hard to die
When all the birds are singing in the sky
Now that the spring is in the air
With the flowers everywhere
I wish that we could both be there
